Designer

Turned wood armchair designed by Riki Watanabe and manufactured in Japan circa 1985.

Inspired by the traditional Windsor chair typology, it features a back composed of slender vertical spindles and gently curved armrests. The broad upper rail is punctuated by a small contrasting dark wood inlay, while the solid wood seat is directly sculpted and gently shaped.

The design combines traditional turned-wood construction with the restrained approach characteristic of Riki Watanabe's Japanese furniture.

Manufacturer: Interior Center, Asahikawa, circa 1985.
