Bunk bed designed by Pierre Guariche in the late 1960s as part of the interior schemes he developed for apartments at the La Plagne ski resort.
Made of plywood and white laminate, contrasted by exposed wood edges and elements, the ensemble forms a compact architectural structure incorporating two superimposed beds. Guariche makes full use of the available height to preserve floor space, a key principle of the modular furniture he developed for compact mountain apartments.
The ensemble is remarkably complete, comprising the bunk bed, its ladder, storage units at the ends of the beds and two illuminated bedside shelves, together with two original cushions and the original blankets. Made of bent plywood and white laminate, the bedside units combine a shelf with integrated lighting and retain their characteristic orange bulb covers.
The double bed, sold separately, completes the arrangement and can be positioned partially beneath the bunk bed to form a daybed.
