Designer

High stool by Christian Durupt, a French cabinetmaker active in the 1960s who collaborated with Charlotte Perriand on Alpine ski resorts. This piece originated from Méribel, where local craftsmen helped furnish mountain residences.

It features a thick square seat in solid pine, resting on four slightly tapered legs linked by a circular black lacquered metal footrest. A robust and functional design typical of mid-century Alpine furniture.

Provenance: Méribel, Savoie, circa 1960.
