Solid wood tripod stool produced in the French Alps around the 1950s.
Its thick circular seat rests on three cylindrical legs fitted directly into the solid wood, reflecting a vernacular construction of remarkable simplicity. The natural grain, aged patina and visible traces of use give the piece a sculptural quality reminiscent of the Japanese wabi-sabi aesthetic, celebrating materiality, imperfection and authenticity.
