Pencil-shaped table lamp designed by Michel Aroutcheff, produced in the 1980s by Vilac.
Made of painted wood, it takes the oversized form of a blue pencil, with faceted sides that structure the light. The piece plays with a simple and direct vocabulary, somewhere between toy and sculpture, transforming a familiar object into a domestic presence.
Close to a postmodern approach, it reflects the idea of everyday objects turned into decorative pieces, between design and childhood imagery.
