Designer

Serving hatch cabinet designed by Le Corbusier and produced by Pierre Guariche for the Firminy Housing Unit, circa 1965.

This model is part of the Unités d'Habitation program developed after World War II. In Firminy, whose construction began shortly before Le Corbusier's death in 1965, Pierre Guariche was commissioned to develop the interior furnishings based on the architect's plans.

Made of mahogany and double-sided white laminate, it features sliding doors opening on both sides and interior shelving. The structure rests on a solid mahogany base. Sourced directly from the building, it retains its original patina.

France, circa 1965.
