Round mahogany table by André Sornay, Meubles Sornay 1960

REF: 7560

Round table in mahogany by André Sornay (1902-2000), the renowned Lyon-based cabinetmaker and a major figure of French modernist design, circa 1960.

The circular mahogany top, with its deep, even grain, rests on a solid mahogany base assembled using Sornay's patented "tigette" system, his hallmark innovation. The visible mortise-and-tenon joints reveal both his constructive precision and his refined sense of proportion, characteristic of his postwar creations.

A balanced and elegant piece that embodies Sornay's vision of functional, architectural furniture made with the finest materials.
