Grasshopper lounge chair designed by Eero Saarinen for Knoll in 1946.
Its bent laminated beech frame forms a continuous line that integrates the legs, armrests and seat support into a single elegant structure. The deep seat and reclining backrest provide exceptional comfort, while the soft curves and refined proportions foreshadow the organic language that would become a hallmark of Eero Saarinen's work.
Fully reupholstered in olive green fabric, this model is regarded as one of Saarinen's earliest major designs for Knoll and an icon of post-war American design.
